Appraising Artworks

Many charities are bequeathed or donated Artworks, and require professional support to understand the value and the optimal way to transform the artwork into direct support for the Charity’s aims.

This can often be challenging and a distraction for Trustees who want to be focussed on the Charity’s mission.

MetSab Auctions offer free, impartial appraisal services which provide the insights and options for Trustees.

Selling pieces

We welcome consignments from Charities of either a single artwork or multiple artworks. These can be sold on behalf of the charity in one of our regular auctions.

Subject to confirmation of your charity’s status, we will provide you with our fee structure for charity sales commissions and share of buyers premium. This means that selling through MetSab is highly efficient from a cost perspective, and we enhance the funds raised through a share of the buyer’s commission.

Dedicated Auctions and Events

We regularly hold the following types of events:

  • Charity Lot Auctions - these are auctions where all of the Lots have been consigned to MetSab by various charities. These can be either general or on a theme such as education; support for childen in conflict zones'; poverty alleviation; water and sanitation; ecology/climate change and animal rights.

  • Single Charity Auctions - if a charity has been donated a significant number of high-quality artworks or artefacts we will work with the Charity to develop a dedicated auction program, with specific marketing and outreach.

  • Charity Gala Events - MetSab collaborates with other philanthropic organisations to host Charity Galas focussed on making available unique pieces of art or art related experiences to discerning guests. These events generate multiple benefits for our Charity partners.
