Following receipt of the item’s information we will conduct an initial review and either complete further review and analysis of the item’s photographs and any documentary evidence as to its provenance and history, or we will outline why we do not believe the item to be suitable for a MetSab Auction.
After our review of the photos and the documentary evidence we will provide (1) a provisional estimate range and proposed reserve (2) an auction event or timeframe we would target to sell the item. (N.B. All estimates are provisional until we have physically examined the item.
Once you are happy with the provisional estimate range, we will arrange for the item to be brought to our offices for evaluation.
After the inspection, we will send you a Consignment Statement which will tell you the item name; its lot number; the auction it is planned for, the estimate range, any suggested reserve price, Sellers commision based on the mid estimate.
